Sewing Difference
Participatory art project with garment-makers in Manchester (2012)
A collaborative making and research project undertaken over six months in 2012 with three garment-makers from Whalley Range, South Manchester. Participants were given a sample garment—a girls’ morris dancing dress—and tasked with its re-imagination, using techniques, styles and fabrics routinely used in their work.
